My path to Borcherding began in 1977 when I took my first job in Automotive Service. I was changing oil and installing tires at a small gas station in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati.
After graduating from Technical School, I started working as a mechanic at an independent garage in Finneytown. It was there I learned about and worked on many different makes of vehicles which included Fords, Chryslers, Nissans, Toyotas and Jeeps just to name a few. After about ten years of working as a mechanic, I decided I wanted to start a career in management. I took a job as a Service Consultant at a local dealership, where I was promoted to Dispatcher then Assistant Service Manager.
In 1993 I took my first position as a Service Manager and quickly made the determination that customer satisfaction was the key to all aspects of success in automotive service.
I was promoted to Fixed Operations Director and assumed supervisory responsibilities in the Parts Department, the Collision Center as well as the Service Department. During that time, I completed programs from General Motors University in Service Management in 1995, and Fixed Operations Management in 2000.
I also served in the General Motors Dealer Fixed Operations Advisory Board for three years. This is a national board made up of dealership managers and GM Factory officials who work together resolving issues relating to dealer and factory operations.
In 2003, I had the opportunity to join the management staff at Borcherding. I had known for sometime that Borcherding was the premier Pontiac, Buick, GMC dealer in this market and was very happy to be invited to join their team. I drive 40 miles one way to get to work, going past many other dealers, but there is no doubt in my mind that the daily trip is worth it. There is a true professionalism that lives throughout our dealership and within all departments that make it fun to come to work
My time away from Borcherding centers on my family, my wife Mary for 22 years and our three children. As a family we enjoy camping and hiking. I personally enjoy a variety of activities including bowling, golfing, softball and basketball.

Welcome to Borcherding! My name is Betty Cooper and I have been a part of the Borcherding family for the past 8 1/2 years. I started here right after moving to Cincinnati from the western plains of Kansas. The friendly atmosphere was a sure cure for the homesickness I was experiencing at the time.
I work in the Service Department, primarily as the Warranty Administrator. However, our Service Manager believes in complete cross training so we are able to fill in at any given time, any position, from writing service to cashiering to being a greeter in the service lane and even driving our shuttle van, when needed.
We have a very comfortable waiting area for our customers, a massage chair, very comfortable soft leather chairs to enjoy the plasma television, and complimentary snacks and beverages. Two computers for our customers use, plus complimentary WIFI for those customers that choose to work on their laptops. It is a very relaxed environment and we get compliments all the time on the comfort of our waiting area. It is not unusual for customers to stay even after their service work is complete.
If you are ever in the Kings Automall area located at I71 and Fields Ertel Road exit, please stop in and say Hi. We enjoy meeting new people all the time and introducing you to the "It's a Borcherding Thing" culture where you become part of the extended family.

Hi, my name is Jeff Bishop. I am an Assistant Service Manager at Borcherding Pontiac, Buick, GMC located in Kings Automall, off of I-71 and Fields Ertel.
I started my automotive career in 1989 at Buick washing cars as a summer job. From there I worked as an apprentice technician at a Pontiac, Buick, GMC dealer in Lebanon, Ohio. In 1991, I was given an opportunity to become a Service Consultant at a Hyundai dealership in Fairfield, Ohio. My time at that dealership convinced me that I prefer working with GM automobiles.
Having over ten years experience with the GM automaker, I have found there is definitely a difference here at Borcherding Pontiac, Buick, GMC. Once you have driven into our Service facility, you will immediately notice the difference in how you are treated and you will experience for yourself how good "The Borcherding Thing" really is.
We look forward to meeting you and taking care of your vehicle. Come enjoy our newly remodeled customer lounge, where it takes the pain out of waiting for your car to be serviced, into a pleasurable experience. Hope to see you soon.

Hello. My name is Marcel Macholda. I would like to share with you what a great place Borcherding is to work and to bring your car in for service.
I have lived in Los Angeles, Chicago, South Bend and now I call Cincinnati home. My wife Donna and I have been happily married for over 7 years and we both love Cincinnati. My wife is originally from Chicago and we both lived in the same neighborhood . However, we did not meet until after I moved here.
After graduating from Xavier University, I worked the insurance business, then in collections. I found that working in collections was not for me because it was not a job that made people happy and I did not get any pesonal satisfaction from it.
This is where "The Borcherding Thing" really showed its true colors! I am very happy and feel a great deal of personal satisfaction. At Borcherding we all feel that we are a part of something big and the best part of all it it's a place tha makes employees happy as well as customers. What more could you ask for? I have the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the industry and I get to meet new people every day. In fact, several customers that I met through Borcherding have become very close friends for many years now.
Outside of work I like to play tennis and I am heavily involved in the Westwood Community of Cincinnati where I live. I am a member of the Cincinnati Police Dept COP unit in Westwood, Westwood Concern, and Westwood Court Watch. Donna and I love the west side and enjoy the beautiful views and fast paced life of living in the city.
I have worked in several positions over the years, but decided to pursue customer service, so I started working in the Service Department. I was a Service Advisor for 5 years. I am now a CSI Coordinator and I also take care of our loaner fleet. I am very happy in this position and do a wide variety of tasks, but the best part is that all the things that I get to do on a daily basis are for one thing and one thing only, which is to make your service experience an enjoyable one.

My automotive background began in high school where I took a basic mechanic's course for approximately two years, At that time, my father worked at the Fisher Body Oldsmobile plant in Lansing, Michigan. I guess you could say I have been in and affiliated with the automotive business most of my life.
Upon graduation, I joined the US Army, where I served my country for the next thirteen years. I finished my career in the Army as a recruiter in Cincinnati.
I was given the opportunity to pursue my interest in the automotive field as a lube technician with a GM dealership in downtown Cincinnati. I moved onto the position of Service Consultant and was in time promoted to Assistant Service Manager. I was approached by a dealership which I had for a long time wanted to work for. That dealership was Borcherding GMC, Buick, Pontiac. I knew that Borcherding was the fastest growing dealer in terms of its ability to satisfy their customers needs and their concern for their employees and the employee's families. Working for Borcherding has been very satisfying.
The diverse customer base that we experience at Borcherding is what makes my job so enjoyable and the opportunities that I have to excel. I would say that we have a wide variety of fine GM vehicles to pick from.
I have been married to my wife, Kendra for 17 plus years. I met my wife in Cincinnati. We have 2 children, Jerilyn who is 15 and William Christopher who is 2 1/2. We love to camp and enjoy all those family trips together. I have lived in Bethel, Ohio for four years. It is a 34 mile drive one way to work for me. I guess you could say if I did not love my job at Borcherding I would not drive so far. Our customers come from further distances than I live to experience the "Borcherding Thing" which I would say makes you feel like family here. I hope you feel the same when you come to visit us.

I'm honored to be part of such a fine dealership staff. I never envisioned a career as an Assistant Service Manager, but I'm glad my life path led me to Borcherding. Early in my career I started as a stock clerk in a parts department for AMC/Jeep/Eagle/Pontiac and Mazda dealership in Florence, Kentucky. Once I learned the basics of Parts Operations, I soon advanced to Parts Consultant. Through the years I've worked for other dealers for Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Ford, and eventually here at Borcherding. Mixed in between these places I've lived a dream of mine playing music. I spent 4 1/2 years with a Top 40 country band playing locally and opening for several National Performing Artists. I also enjoyed playing for another band full time for approximately 2 years. I then decided to settle down, get married and start a family. Fortunately, my life path led me here to Borcherding and while here I have grown as a person and have come to adapt to the company's mission not only to meet, but to exceed my customer's expectations. I've learned that success stems from developing relationships with customers and growing their trust. I've been blessed to be a part of the Borcherding family and believe I fit well with this company. I hope to continue satisfying customers for a long time with Borcherding.

After completing my Automotive Degree at a college in Canton, Ohio, I moved to Cincinnati to take a position with Borcherding Pontiac Buick GMC in the Kings Automall. My main focus at the dealership is working as a customer service representative which ensures a pleasant dealership experience for our customers. I also enjoy working in other areas within the dealership and I have been cross trained as an Assistant Service Manager, Cashier and Warranty Administrator.
I feel that Borcherding goes above and beyond to meet customer needs and that is why I enjoy working at Borcherding Pontiac Buick GMC in the Service Department. We are willing to do extra for the customer to ensure their needs are met.
One thing that I really enjoy about my job is that each day holds another segment of knowledge to discover. I have learned so much from the Master Technicians that work in the shop. They are willing to share their knowledge, therefore enabling me to both apply and exercise my technical skills about vehicles. The management also enables us to keep up to date on the latest models, technical changes and new accessories by sending the employees to continuing education throughout the year.
I love being a part of The Borcherding Thing!
